The news that “Zubbles” has been released has sparked a new sense of excitement in me. This simple product consisting of two layers of soap sandwiching a layer of water (a million times thinner than an inch) has become quite a mind anchor for me … an inspiration to keep hanging on, and to keep forging ahead.

If you have not heard of Zubbles just yet, don’t be too concerned as it will make its way into the hands of every little child and child-like adult in your neck of the woods. It is the latest incarnation of the simple bubble … soapy water mixed with a little breath of life (or wind), resulting in endless giggling and laughter. What makes this latest product quite exciting is the addition of colors to the bubbles – stain free, disappearing-ink-like colors are now part of the chemical make-up of the simple bubble.

Simple, yes. Easy … well, that is something Zubbles inventor Tim Kehoe cannot say was a part of this more than 15 year story. Zubbles contain a special dye which gives them vibrant colours but disappears within just 15 minutes of the bubble popping, but it is the development of that very dye that has kept the 39 year old Minnesota awake at nights.

A devoted father and lover of bubbles,  Tim Kehoe has pursued the simple question of WHY bubbles can’t have colors that don’t stain at a staggering cost of 3 million US dollars, and what amounted to over 15 years or research and time. And although times of trouble and worry plagued him over the years, he never gave up on his childhood love, and parental quest to share something with his children.

At an economic time when most people have lost the simplicity and beauty of childhood pursuits, and the belief in one’s dream amidst a crumbling global economic structure, Tim Kehoe gave me back the spirit and the dream. The spirit to continue on with the simple pursuits in life, of things I love and truly care about … despite the economic struggles and financial worries. Zubbles restored my belief and my passion in pursuing the dreams I have (childhood and otherwise) so that what I love and what I do for a living may come together.

Yes, Zubbles may be just bubbles to some … but it represents the accomplishments forged by the love of one’s childhood passion and the simple question of “why not?”. And although it took Tim Kehoe over fifteen years, the smiles and joy his pursuits will place on the faces of kids of all ages will have been all worthwhile.

Get yours today, and share the magic and the laughter.  The Zubble fun can be purchased at their official website, and soon at a store near you!
