So I write, occasionally. Whatever comes to mind. Sometimes the thoughts just flow and end up becoming a story. Other times I take individual thoughts and string them together in an attempt to draw a line between two completely differently worlds and look like a genius or an intellectual. Either way, in the end, the goal is to entertain and maybe provoke some thought.
Along with the occasional story, I am also curious, nosy perhaps. I see a headline and if it intrigues me I want to know more. In doing so, I have found that my thoughts are not so unique and perhaps not timed well. In talking with my friend, it turns out his experiences conjure up the same stories as mine. But why do you look so different from me? Our life experiences vary greatly. Why do we think alike? I have decided that while we may think alike, the key is to look at the delivery. Life is all about the small things. Sure, I have the same thoughts or ideas, but when you compare the way my friend and I express them, they are very different.
Sure when I go to yoga I am doing the same pose as everyone else, but last week the instructor taught me a small trick about lining up my body so while we look the same, I am more comfortable in the pose than someone else. Sure we both ride the same board, at the same break, but the fluidity with how you pop up inspires me as I awkwardly try to rise and balance.
As you go on your way today, lighten up and look for the subtle differences in life. When someone greets you, watch their eyes. Listen to the things people are saying. And in the words of a wonderful, wise, intelligent woman, “Love Everyday.”
