We obviously like Recycled Records for the simple fact that it prevents more garbage from getting dumped into the land fills, but it also performs a crucial function in reducing waste in other areas not necessarily attached to the land fills.

When Michael Briody decided to do something about reducing the amount of neoprene that ends up in land fills, he knew that it would involve ingenuity, hard work, and chopping or cutting of some sorts. Inspired by the creative spirit instilled in him by a strong family foundation, Michael put nose to the grindstone and came up with [...]

It may seem like an unimaginable ‘hop’ from the shores of the Hawaiian islands to the Pacific Ocean coast of Nicaragua, but expat and local Hawaii chef Kenny Nakai connected Hawaii’s taste and flavors to the Nicaraguan culture in San Juan del Sur. Known as “the place where Nicaraguans go for holidays”, this small Nicaraguan town – [...]

On a good day, the surf break known as “cliffs” at Kuilei Beach Park is glassy, clean, and chest to head high. On a typical “Diamond Head” day, it is windy, choppy, and knee to hip high – but not crowded. Either way, it’s home, and it’s good to be home! If you are not [...]

I recently wrote about my growing concern about the lack of “need” to surf during the last few months, and it is about time that I revisited that notion. It has indeed been over two months since I have paddled out into the great blue yonder on my trusted surfboard, and the oddly persistent itch [...]

Location check? Australia. Surfing at Bondi Beach during this particular visit was a “hit or miss” situation. Maybe there are waves to ride, and then again maybe the wind decides it will create a mushy mix of the pitchy waves … resembling melting marshmallows oozing down towards the sand. Perhaps the almighty sun will come [...]
